Now accepting money via Twitter (TwitPay)!

The idea is very simple: Tweet the following:

@GuruOfSales twitpay $5 for green earth cause

And I will get $5 from you in the form of an Amazon gift card (That I might use for the Green Earth group).

That’s it!

This is how simple it is.

More details?

OK, so you don’t have to send me money right now (Although I will take it to start the group) πŸ™‚

I think that this is  great idea and a great business model, it’s simple and easy.
The way it works, is that you send someone a tweet (Twitter update) like the example above, you can send anywhere between $0.01 and $50.00.
Twitpay will keep track of your messages (Promises) and will send the recipient an amazon gift card every time they have reach just $10 in their twitpay account.
You can keep your promise or cancel it. it’s up to you.
Other ways to spend your twitpay money is to twitpay a charity or to twitpay (The company). However you need to remember that they will charge you a flat $0.05 for any payment that’s over $0.99

How do you check your twitpay account?

Just go to http://twitpay.me/yourtwittername (Replace ‘yourtwittername’ with your twitter name!) and you will see how much money you have or owe!

For more on twitpay you can visit the service here or read the FAQ here.
Please note: At the time of writing this, twitpay is stil under beta, they are still looking into more ways to integrate their payment systems. Please becarful if you’re sending money to any one. except if you’re sending it to me ;-p

If you’re not following me on Twitter yet, do so by going here.
And if you are not an RSS subscriber yet, do so by going here.

Manage your advertising with Google Ad Manager

gamlogo

Although it’s still say that it’s in beta, but Google Ad Manager has been open for public use for a while now.

I have been invited (secretly) to use the service a while back and I found it extremely useful.

Basically the service aims to help web site publishers and blog owners to integrate ads into their pages, whether it’s Google’s AdSense, other ad networks, or even your own in house ads.

googadmng

Here is what they offer (From their site):

Inventory management

  • Inventory levels: Define inventory at granular levels for more efficient line item creation and trafficking. Use ad slots to generate Ad Manager tags for your pages, ad placements to group related ad slots, and ad products to bundle and sell inventory packages with the same cost and targeting criteria.
  • Inventory availability tracking: Easily confirm whether ad impressions are available for specific dates, placements, and targeting criteria. Avoid overbooking and underselling.
  • Simple ad tag generation and management: Copy and paste tags directly into your HTML. Avoid the need to re-tag your site when you change the way you sell your inventory. (Available upon request: iframe tags.)

Yield optimization

  • Optional AdSense Integration: Use AdSense to fill unsold inventory or compete on price against other ad networks.

Ad targeting

  • Built-in targeting options: Target ads to your site visitors’ geography, day and time, bandwidth, browser, browser language, operating system, and domain.
  • Customizable targeting criteria: Target ad impressions by passing your own custom key-value pairs to Ad Manager.

Trafficking, ad delivery, and order booking

  • Delivery options: Choose one of five delivery types (exclusive, premium, standard, remnant, or house) to determine, automatically, how ads may be delivered.
  • Frequency capping: Set multiple levels of frequency capping, which limit the number of ads the same visitor sees over a minute, hour, day, week, month, or lifetime.
  • Roadblocking: Deliver multiple creatives together on the same page. (Available upon request.)
  • Proven Google infrastructure: Enjoy fast, reliable ad delivery and load time.
  • Support for various ad pricing models: Choose from cost-per-thousand-impressions (CPM), cost-per-click (CPC), and cost-per-day (CPD).
  • AdSense integration (optional):Consistently deliver the highest-paying ad by enabling AdSense.
  • Ad network management: Easily manage your third-party ad networks with network orders.

Creatives and rich media management

  • Rich media support: Use tags from a variety of rich media providers. Automatically detect macros.
  • Free ad creatives hosting: Save bandwidth and costs.
  • Redirect creatives support: Easily track ads from a third-party network, affiliate provider, or other URL you provide.

Reporting

  • Multiple reporting options: Run reports on order delivery, inventory performance, or overall sales.
  • Detailed reporting: Break down reports by date, line item, placement, advertiser, and other categories.
  • Fast report generation: Create reports in seconds.
  • Interactive views: Sort data, add or remove columns, review different data subsets, and make other edits without having to leave the page or run a new report.
  • Media Rating Council (MRC) accredited: Feel confident in Google Ad Manager’s ad impression measurement process, accredited by the Media Rating Council to be fully compliant with Interactive Advertising Bureau standards.

User interface

  • Search functionality: Locate order, inventory, or advertiser data from any page in Ad Manager.
  • Intuitive work flows: Quickly and easily create orders, approve orders, and review status of orders. Decrease training time and trafficking steps.
  • AdSense channels integration: Import your existing AdSense channels into Ad Manager (optional).
  • Browser session support: Use your browser’s ‘Back’ button and other built-in navigation without losing data.

Administration

  • Access controls: Set various viewing and editing permissions for your team.
  • Contacts organization: Store and manage advertiser and agency company information.
  • International language and currency support: Use Google Ad Manager in your native language and currency.

And a great 5 slides demo explains it easier is available here.

As of January first we are re-opening our advertising opportunities here at Guru Of Sales and we will be using Google’s Ad Manager πŸ™‚

The wait is almost over

Just like you, I do not like waiting too. So, I will make it short and sweet:
The wait is almost over for those of you who have been waiting on the Online School (WOOT!)
At noon EST tomorrow, I will reveal the link and the name of the site where this school will take place.
Your wait was worth it.

Mapping and planning the entire project was done a while back, but as I explained before, I had some issues with my sponsors about the background color and layout that did not fit their campaign needs.

So make sure to get the RSS and follow me on Twitter and I will keep you up to date.

Although the school is still 100% free and I am putting caps limit of up to 500 attendees, but that’s not the only thing that’s for free. By signing up and doing some easy stuff that I might ask you for, you could win some cool stuff from our sponsors or even cash of up to $3000 value so far (and you don’t even have to attend the school!) but we’ll talk about that in another post πŸ˜‰

For now I need you to give me some suggestions of what you would like to learn about and I might just add that as a class if it fits the school and I will (Of Course) give you credit for your idea, so comment below and I will read everyone’s comment carefully. I promise πŸ™‚

A new brilliant idea for Online shopping

As some of you guys may know that one of my favorite “Geek merchandise” website is thinkgeek.com, and there is only 2 other places that I shop online, eBay and Amazon.
That was until I wrote the article about ping.fm and I got a comment on it from a follower (now a friend) from twitter, so, as usual I went to check their site like from their twitter bio at: http://thebuyersnet.com and I found out a new way of shopping online.
The idea is simple yet brilliant, look for items, join or create a club for it, other people like the same item, they add it to their wish list or join the club, everyone buys it at the end as a group, and that’s where the savings come by buying the item wholesale price.

A great diagram explaining how it works is here.
I am currently looking for a new laptop, so far (As a proud geek) I am falling in love with the new Sony Vaio FE series, most likely with a read/write BLU-Ray player. If anyone else interested, let’s create a club for it and share the savings on http://thebuyersnet.com.
The site have categories including: Automobiles & Accessories, Computers & accessories, Electronics, Fitness, Furniture, Appliances, sports & more.

I just wanted to share the discovery with you all πŸ˜‰

New: Guru Of Sales version 1.6!!

Why is it 1.6?
Why not 2.0?
And why now?

First of all, I like to remind you that back in April I only made very little changes since the launch of this blog. We named it version 1.5.
Just recently we added some more changes but it wasn’t big enough to qualify for version 2.0 yet. And in the near future we will have 1.7 or 1.9 whatever it will be, so keep an eye πŸ˜‰

Recent changes includes the following:

New pages:
https://guruofsales.com/services (not to big of a change)
https://guruofsales.com/services/ebay-basics-of-selling (This is a local service only)
https://guruofsales.com/jobs (As promised before. I didn’t forget)
https://guruofsales.com/advertise (To advertise with us)
More pages in the next update.

New categories:
Some of you may know that me and my guest bloggers ran 26 blogs, I joining 5 of them into this blog, also joining most of the other blogs to be sold (Already have 3 offers on the table). In results of that, I added more categories to this blog to reflect the changes.
New categories will involve more than the main purpose of this blog, to include technology (Mainly gadgets) and environment issues like global warming.
In results of the new changes, you will see much more traffic on this blog and we’ll try to keep it all connected. I am also taking this opportunity to announce that some of my bloggers are leaving to be on their own and will only blog here occasionally. So, within a week, I will post for a blogging job opening (Again!) so keep an eye if you’re looking for some extra income.
I had to include this post under all the categories, otherwise, the categories will not show. Take a look near the end of the sidebar to check the new categories.

I would like to thank everyone that worked with me to make all this possible.

Until next time friends πŸ™‚
