Have you every wanted to see your grandmother online through video?

Unless you live with her, you probably did!

Did you want to setup a video conference call but wasn’t sure which software the other party is using?

I can tell you exactly how long it will take you to setup everything so you can chat using video online with any person. 63 minutes!

That’s how long it took me on the phone (My call duration was 1:03:22) to a friend in another state just to start the video chat, download and setup skype, install the new driver for your cam because it didn’t support MAC computers, setup your mic (Her mic was muted the entire time!) setup your speakers source… ETC.

Sounds familiar?

What if I told you that on June 13th of 2009 while I was waiting patiently to snag my Facebook username (facebook.com/GuruOfSales) Pete Cashmore of Mashable.com along with 2 friends of his (one of which was actually in facebook’s HQ for the event) were all doing a video chat room on mashable, and you know how long it took them to set it up? 22 seconds! Not because they all had their cams already setup, not because they all knew how to use skype, but simply they created the chat room using the service that I heard of that night: TinyChat

At TinyChat.com all you need is just a twitter account, name your room, login to twitter and you have a high quality video audio and text chat, it took me 22 seconds to setup the entire room, didn’t even have to promote it, people just jumped in, how did they know? A tweet and a facebook status update was sent instantly to my friends and followers with the link to the room, even more, I had the option of tweeting every chat line I enter, which I think is a neat feature.

However, the coolness doesn’t stop there, many readers of this blog will love the next option: Screencast your desktop, NICE! With one click you can record or live stream (screencast) your desktop or website tuturial in a very high video quality, but for this option you will have to pay for the pro membership, and you will not believe this, it’s only $14.95 to get pro, Holly Cow! An entire $14.95 (Just being sarcastic), a screen cast or recording software like Camtasia will cost you $100’s of dollars, mean while this cool service will do almost the same job with the addition of live casting chat voice and text, I mean… come on, my Flickr pro Cost the double of that!

Anyways, check it out here: TinyChat.com

P.S. This was not a paid review nor I am an affiliate for the service, I just simply liked it and wanted to share it with you guys. Enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

Facebook’s CEO On Oprah!

By now, most of you know that I am a huge fan and mostly active (If not addicted!) on 2 major sites: Facebook & Twitter.

Lately, Twitter has gained some huge exposure on some big TV shows world wide, for example: The Daily Show, The Ellen Degeneres Show and tons of shows on YouTube.

Well, until I can get Ellen to follow me @GuruOfSales and listen to my ideas, I’ll just have to write about Oprah.

If you can recall, I wrote about Oprah using Skype, which was a very smart move by her show.

Today, on her show, she is interviewing non other than Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook.

But before Mark, Oprah Skyped Jimmy Fallon, and one of the questions that she asked him is: Who would you like to Skype after Robert De Niro and he answered: The queen of England! (Pretty Cool).

Now, back to Mark. The video introduction was great, and Mark was wearing a tie (For the first time ever I think!).

The interview basically explained the one true point in today’s web, sharing is everything, what made facebook what it is now, was the people, not Mark! However, Mark made the tool, made it easy to share idea’s, videos, photos, laughs or anything, a complete control over your facebook. Even president Obama, he used that power to gain massive votes hands down.

The good thing about this interview is that Oprah connects to millions that is not on facebook, whether because they are afraid or didn’t know how! So the message is clear, join, connect and share.

In today’s Online live, being transparent and sharing it is very important, remember you are not a machine, you’re human, just like me, we all do the same thing, so don’t be afraid, just get on and join. Don’t forget to friend me ๐Ÿ™‚

Then Oprah introduced her show’s facebook page, which I think that’s every show, celiberty or company is finally catching up and joining the mass (Also on Twitter now!).

I’ve Just added (Became a fan) of the Oprah fan page and even wrote on the wall!

They even got Jimmy Fallon back through Skype and talked to him about his show’s facebook page.

And that is all, The interview with the youngest billionair was over.

Then there was a YouTube video interview.

The 3 most powerfull sites now (In my opinion) are: Faceboo, Twitter and YouTube. And today’s Oprah show was pretty much a promotion stunt as they used (& still) do for new movies and books!

I have to state the following about my opinion on MySpace:

If you have noticed, I have never done any articles about MySpace, that’s no accident! I have been in love with the Facebook system, clean and simple without all the filling and trash that is MySpace. Don’t get mad at me, but this is just like Microsoft’s IE Vs. FireFox, once you have used FireFox, you’ll never go back! And it’s been proven, do a quick comparison on compete.com or alexa.com between both and you will see how Facebook dominated MySpace. Not bad for my predictions!

At Wahol.com, we had over 14 hours on how to use Facebook for business or personal (And I did point out that your personal profile should not be for business, instead, create a facebook page or group for your business, it’s better this way!). Signup today to get more info.

Skype 4.0 is out!

I am a huge fan of Skype and have been for a very long time, since Skype version 2.0 to be exact ๐Ÿ™‚

Oprah uses Skype almost every other week since she started using it on her show last year.

Skype 4.0 for windows is out, with a lot of enhancements:
First, you will notice the “Windows Vista” skin to give you the look and feel of a light application.
The software is lighter, they have even removed the Skype Extra manager from running in the background like it used to before.

The new look is 100% redesigned to get you everything you need in one screen, whether standard or compact, you still get an entire view of options in one shot, very cool.

Voice and video enhanced to crystal clear and video calls are still in the same window of the person you’re calling.

Juggling between people and conversation is never easier, they kind of copied the multi-chat window idea from digsby!

One thing Skype is still missing, is the automatic update, I got a notification from my iSkoot app on my phone, but never got it on my computer, so unless you are reading the Skype blog or have iSkoot installed on your Android phone, how should people know that there is a new and improved Skype?

Also as a sneaky addition, eBay (The owner of Skype) is pushing a new FireFox plugin during the installation of the new Skype, the new plugin will dedict items on shopping websites that are available on eBay and will highlight it and compare the pricing on eBay. It’s useful for shoppers that really don’t know how to shop! For me, I uninstalled it soon after I tried it.

The new version will take some get used to time for native Skypees, but it’s worth it, I have been playing with it for 2 days now and I am loving it ๐Ÿ™‚
You can download the new Skype here.
