Be You! It’s your own blog!

I made this point very clear over at the online training program at WAHOL!
I made it clear on this blog many times before!
John Chow made it clear on the interview we did before (Watch it here)
In over 200 blogs that I get their RSS feeds on my Google reader, there is an average of 7 out of 10 bloggers that is pushing their business or affiliate programs or whatever they want to advertise!
7 out of 10!!
That is a lot.
As a web surfer and a blog reader, when I get the feeling of “You have to buy this product” on any blog, I automatically unsubscribe from it’s feeds and I may never go back to read it. Why? Because if I “NEED” something, I’ll just go to amazon.com or eBay.com or I’ll do my own mini research using search engines to find out what it is that other people are saying about this product or service. The people that actually bought it before and wrote a review about it (On the shopping site, not on their blogs), and I just naturally compare and decide to buy it or not.
In all of my seminars, I encourage everyone to get social, join facebook or twitter, to socialize, not to blast your business and product. My advice is normally this:
Be nice, become friends or re-connect with old friends, once in a while mention your service or products and the money will come later. It normally comes later (and lots of it) only by sending out good Karma.

What goes around, comes around!

That is very true, when looking at blogs or newsletters with literary tons of affiliate banners or “Pay Now” buttons, I just get sick and surf away immediately.

Check out this blog’s posts, only every once in a while I include any affiliate link to make commission or to sell something, instead, I concentrate on sharing knowledge and spreading the word about the good stuff that we can all share. Yet again, I am still making some cash to live on, (let me rephrase that), I am making great living from this blog thanks to other people and companies that ask me to advertise here (On the side!) without having to do anything more than what I love doing (Blogging).

Another example is the famous iJustine she started her online life casting just because she have a passion for it, now, YouTube pays her a share of their advertising revenue as a way of saying thank you for bringing more people to us, even on her blog at TastyBlogSnack.com she offers to connect with here on any of her online profiles “THEN” there is a small PayPal donation button “After” everything else, on her Twitter account she has her bio as: ” I am the Internet!” plain and simple.

I am not saying don’t promote your business, I am saying promote it in places where promotions belongs to, go write a feedback on amazon or write a review (or even a giude) on eBay, go to the company’s blog (like at Dell) and write about it and incude your affiliate link or go to another company blog (Like at ThinkGeek) and comment on posts there with what you honestly think of their products and again include your affiliate link in the comment.

But, when it comes to your own blog, do it to share your knowladge, I know that if we all do that, the world will become a much better place to be at.

Did anyone that follows me on Twitter take a look at my bio there? It’s says: “Bio: Be You, Be cool, Be nice” That is all I do 😉

There is a lot more I can ramble about about this topic, but that’s another story! Get the “FREE” RSS to keep updated 🙂

And before you go chopping your laptop because of all the advertising on it, just comment below and answer this question: Why do you “Really” blog?

Video interview w/ eBay President & CEO John Donahoe

First of all, I would like to apologize about the big mistake I did while taking this video, and to clarify why, is simply because I snatched this interview as soon as I got the chance, however, my camera was on very low battery and it was set in the previous recording on the zoomed in position, if I have realized that and tried to zoom out before taking the video, I would loose the power and the entire interview in general.
I know it might seem funny, but everyone make mistakes!

In the interview, John Donahoe, eBay’s current president (Who also used to be the eBay marketplaces president for a long time), speaks positively with confident about eBay, urging new users to sign up, buy and sell, even create social networks around it.
I first met John last year at eBay’s DevCon in Boston, briefly spoke to him about his visions and found out that he is not only a brilliant & open minded person, but I thought that he is the man for the job, taking eBay to the next level (In my opinion, this should have been done a long time ago!) and I agree with every move he made since taking over his position 100% (And yes I don’t think that eBay should be just a big garage sale, there is a lot more into it than just that).
John, me and Pierre Omidyar (eBay founder) share the same vision that drove a lot of current sellers away or mad or whatever you have seen in the news latley, but I think that consentrating on eBay’s core business, opening more doors to developers (API’s), and cleaning up the site in general of some of the old rules that brought the company somehow down, is the only way for eBay to become what it’s meant to be since the begining, an online marketplace!
Yes I understand that I might get a lot of comments against my opinion, but I truly believe that if you reialze how much more money you can make though eBay without even selling anything, you will be amaized of what you didn’t know before. All I can ask you is to open your eyes, think outside the box, research on how to become a real player in this game (Not just a big seller) and I guarentee you great profit and bigger bussines than you can even imagin.
Before I leave you with the video, I wanted you all to know that I am including at least 2 months total of eBay training, not only on how to sell, but also a complete work around to make profit in other ways but selling, including the affiliate program, API calls, integration into other applications and similler stuff. (Don’t start going crazy now, I promise that it will be so easy for any one to do it with the least experiance) and will be all for free on the upcoming Online School that I announced here.

Bankaholic.com sells for $15 Million!

The incredibly famous blogger (& one of my three blogging heroes) Darren Rowse of ProBlogger wrote an article today about this one blog run by one man, Bankaholic.com is a WordPress blog run by John Wu, Darren said that he received emails reporting that Mr. Wu blog was sold for up to a nice $15 million to PaidContent.org The deal is to pay $12.4 million upfront and another $2.5 mill over the next 12 months and Mr. Wu will remaiun blogging on the site.
I think it’s a very fair (& a bit higher than normal) price for just one blog, but like Darren mentioned, with a current 42,168 alexa rank and a growing Google trends for the site, and the huge affiliate marketing potential on the blog, I also think that I made the right desicion for not selling this blog for $65,000 😉

The good news is this:
Again, perfect timing! As I announced yesterday about the new school, I will be revealing details about it throughout this month.
Well, I think that students will be happy that a big part of the school will be about (My number one passion) Blogging, and how to profit online from it. (Hint: The last sentence includes the name of the new school).
Also, I think students will be happy to know that I will include instructions and details on how to use and rank in alexa, how to integrate Google services into your everyday life and of course into your business, and ways to get a good “Organic” Google trends rank for your blog or website.
Also in the school…(Wait! I am not telling everything now, you have to subscripe to the feed by clicking here).

Thank you Darren for the perfectly timed info, and congratulations to Mr. John Wu for the great sale.
