Happy Holidays from Facebook devs!

As I was going through my wave of messages, I received this message from the Facebook Platform team (As a developer):

We wanted to take a moment and thank you for all of your great work and amazing applications that have helped make Facebook Platform the largest and fastest-growing social platform over the past year and a half. As we end 2008 there are over 660,000 of you worldwide building applications that give users more powerful ways to share and connect, and collectively your applications have reached nearly 140 million people.

Just recently, we’ve been excited to bring you Facebook Connect – allowing you to integrate the tools and features of Facebook Platform on your Websites, devices and desktop applications. In the next several months, we’re looking forward to introducing additional improvements to help users more easily find your applications as well as launching the first sets of Verified Applications to users. If you haven’t applied for verification yet, apply here:

Over the next year, we look forward to continued developments to improve Facebook Platform and help you reach and engage more users, and grow and sustain your business. We would love your feedback and input on what you think is most important – please take a few minutes and answer our survey here:

From all of us at Facebook, we wish you and your families “Happy Holidays,” and we look forward to making the web even more social with you in 2009!

I have been to a couple of the Facebook developers garage day and have 3 videos of the live streaming event via skype, here is the first of 3 videos:

Thank you Facebook for a wonderful 1.5 years and thank you everyone who
is reading for a great 4 years run on this blog and others, huge

The wait is almost over

Just like you, I do not like waiting too. So, I will make it short and sweet:
The wait is almost over for those of you who have been waiting on the Online School (WOOT!)
At noon EST tomorrow, I will reveal the link and the name of the site where this school will take place.
Your wait was worth it.

Mapping and planning the entire project was done a while back, but as I explained before, I had some issues with my sponsors about the background color and layout that did not fit their campaign needs.

So make sure to get the RSS and follow me on Twitter and I will keep you up to date.

Although the school is still 100% free and I am putting caps limit of up to 500 attendees, but that’s not the only thing that’s for free. By signing up and doing some easy stuff that I might ask you for, you could win some cool stuff from our sponsors or even cash of up to $3000 value so far (and you don’t even have to attend the school!) but we’ll talk about that in another post 😉

For now I need you to give me some suggestions of what you would like to learn about and I might just add that as a class if it fits the school and I will (Of Course) give you credit for your idea, so comment below and I will read everyone’s comment carefully. I promise 🙂

Why do I LOVE Twitter?

twitter

3 Days ago I asked this question on Twitter: Name 1 reason you love Twitter and 1 tool that you use to “Tweet” the most.
Here is my answer:

Here are the first 50 answers (Replies or Direct Messages) from my friends on Twitter:

Twitter is a personal friendly tool used to network socialize and most importantly staying up to date on what’s going on in the world.

Best answer that made me laugh was @netik answer, we all know that you work there John, so thanks for participating 🙂

All the other answers are great, I received almost 100 replies with only one of them asking if they can say why they hated twitter. Well, as any person would, I was a bit skeptical too when I first started using Twitter. But that’s another story in the making and will be shared with you all soon.

Don’t forget to comment on this post of what you think of the answers and of Twitter in general.

Thank you to everyone that replied or DM’ed me back and if you are looking to learn more about Twitter and beyond, I have just finished a 5 hours session to be included in the free online school starting November 1st, so keep updated and sign up when the doors opens soon 🙂
