ProBlogger “BANNED” then unbanned from StumbleUpon!

ProBlogger.net one of my favorite all time bloggers Darren Rowse, just had 2 posts, about his blog being banned from StumbleUpon and thanks to his Twitter followers, and fellow Diggers he finally got in touch with the community manager (in less than 2 hours) and his blog was unbanned.
This is how powerful social media is and it’s the perfect example how it’s effecting our lives right now (Remember the old CNN story about the tweet that got a guy out of jail in Egypt?).
And this is exactly the reason I am starting the online school I have been talking about for a while now that will launch very soon (official annousment next week). All you have to do to join and keep updated is to subscribe to this blog’s RSS and soon you will find out when it will start (remember it’s 100% free for all).

ALL NEW: Paypal button factory

My good friend Damon Williams (one of the top developers at PayPal) have just announced the new PayPal button factory.
For those of you who don’t know what PayPal is, (I have a couple of videos and a couple of posts coming up soon) PayPal simply is a safe fast way to accept money online.
Before I go any further, I have to say that as I am writing this, this new improvement is only available to developers and will be available soon at PayPal.com, however, since I am a certified PayPal developer, I took a look at the new very useful enhancements on the new button factory, and I like it a lot (specially the first 2), here are the new option from Damon’s blog post:

– Multiple drop-down options per button (e.g., Size,
Color, etc), and we’ve removed the limit of having just two optional fields

– The ability to set price by options (e.g., $8 for
medium t-shirts and $10 for large)

– Inventory tracking and management capability

– Simple button customization (e.g., add credit card
logos, make a smaller size, etc.)

– The ability to track profits and margins by products

– Save commonly created buttons

– Easy-to-use encryption

– And much more…

I hope all of my fellow nerds like it.

Yahoo! called it the Segway Killer!

I know what you thinking, this is the second title that contained the word “killer” on this blog in less than one week, but this is true, that’s exactly what Yahoo! called it in their headline.
However I will never call it that, in fact I was laughing on that title 🙂 because I know that the Segway was dead the day it was born!
Unless you are Adam Savage from the hit show MythBusters, or some big Hollywood shot that needs such thing to roam back and forward in your huge storage facilities, I really think that this is not for you.
Toyota said that it’s main target is the elder people in Japan, but I think it will be a long time before I see anyone riding it in the streets in the U.S.
The smallest model has no bars, instead it acts (and look) like a robotic skates, moving you smoothly all over your mall. Who knows maybe it will have a good market after all.
