I know that I for one will be watching it the second it’s out, since I am a facebook addict π
I think I have close to 500 friends as I type this on facebook, and I am never tired to send happy birthdays or helping others on the facebook help forum, remember to add me as a friend, I like making new friends π

Facebook Chat. finally!
Let’s see, I have Yahoo messenger, MSN/Live messenger, AOL’s AIM, Skype, Google talk, ICQ and social IM.
I had to put them all in one application so I used Trillian for a while then switched to pidgin and I extremely recommend pidgin for everyone.
Then to keep in touch with my friends on facebook, I installed a new application: Social IM.
Just today, facebook came up with their own chat service, very similar to the one from within Gmail, it is online and it’s in the form of a nested tool bar on the bottom of every page from within your profile.
Great idea really, now there is a way to instantly chat with friends and (even better) find out who is online right now.
Not that I have anything against facebook’s messaging/email system, as a matter of fact I liked it a lot, because it took the form of a real chat (Just like Gmail) when you are messaging someone. But it still had a delay factor in it. Well that’s OK now because I can see who is on and who is not and chat with them instantly. And as an added feature, facebook respects your privacy, so they added the option of not showing that you’re on by making yourself unavailable.
Overall I think it’s a great addon to the facebook platform and I think they chose the correct location for it.
By the way, you can add me as a friend on facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=540610872

Hot or Not sold for $20 Millions

HotOrNot.com was just sold for a reported $20 Millions to Avid Life Media. Well, big congratulations to the founders Jim and James.
As you might know now, I have been a member for a couple of yearsΒ now and I loved how was the site so open since the start and the freedom we had as members.
In the beginning the site was all about rating people based on their looks. Then they have implemented a dating method that was different than any other dating service site.
And I have to say that they kept it clean of any pornographic images, by manually moderating the site (Funny it was James parents who took out the bad pictures).
Now with the explosion of the site’s application on FaceBook and so many highly trafficked social networking sites, and after reporting about $5 Million a year revenue from their site, I think that another $20 Million to top that is a great deal.
I know and hope that Jim and James will have another great idea to come up with. But for now, I wish them great luck and hope they don’t spend it all in one place π
